Paid later, paid properly: how backing works between brands
A designer gives work now and is paid from sales later. Here is what makes that fair for both sides.
Most small brands do not fail for lack of talent. They stall because the help they need costs cash they do not have yet: a logo, product photos, packaging, a first order of stock. Backing changes the order of things. The skill or the product comes first, and payment follows from the sales it helps create.
What has to be agreed first
- What exactly is given: the work, the quantity, what is not included.
- When the brand starts paying: after an agreed period, so the work has time to pay for itself.
- The instalments: how much, how often, and for how long.
- What happens if a payment is late.
SAKI SE writes this down before anything starts, records the delivery when the brand confirms it, and tracks each instalment as it comes in.
Why records make it safe
Nobody should put their work or stock into a business they cannot see into. Members keep their sales and expenses with SAKI SE, and with the brand's consent its backers can see how it is doing. That visibility is what lets strangers trust each other.
What backing is not
It is not a loan, and SAKI SE is not a lender. No money passes through SAKI SE. It is an agreement between two members, written down and followed up.
